We publish service pages only for work we actually offer. Adjacent topics are covered educationally in our guides library and do not imply that we perform that work.
3. Website content is not a diagnosis
Everything on this website is general information. It is not an engineering opinion, a structural assessment, or a diagnosis of any specific property. We do not diagnose conditions from photographs or descriptions, and nothing on this site should be relied on as a substitute for a site-specific evaluation by a qualified professional.
Hazard maps, geological descriptions, and permitting summaries reflect regional conditions and general processes at the time of writing. Jurisdictional requirements change. Confirm current requirements with the reviewing authority before relying on any description here.
4. Enquiries, evaluations, and quotes
Submitting an enquiry form does not create a contract and does not confirm an appointment. We will contact you to discuss the project, and any charge for an on-site evaluation is explained before an appointment is booked.
A quote becomes binding only when issued in writing and accepted by you. Verbal estimates, ranges discussed by phone, and figures published in our cost guides are not quotes and are not binding.
5. Scope, exclusions, and change orders
Every written scope states what is included and what is excluded. Work outside the accepted scope, including cosmetic repair, plumbing or electrical alterations, landscaping, and finishing work, is not performed unless separately agreed in writing.
Foundation work regularly reveals conditions that could not be observed beforehand. Where a hidden condition materially affects the work, we will stop, explain the condition, and issue a change order for your approval before continuing. We do not proceed with unapproved additional work.
6. Pricing and payment
All prices are quoted in USD and are subject to change until a written quote is issued and accepted. Payment stages are set out in the accepted proposal. Where financing is arranged through a third party, that agreement is between you and the financing provider.
7. Access, permits, and property conditions
You are responsible for providing safe and lawful access to the work area and for disclosing known conditions such as buried utilities, septic systems, easements, and prior repairs. Permits required for the work are identified in the written scope, along with who is responsible for obtaining them.
Restoration is limited to what the accepted scope states. Excavation, access, and structural work can affect landscaping, hardscape, and interior finishes, and those effects are described in the scope rather than treated as incidental.
8. Cancellation
Scheduled evaluations and work should be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations may incur a fee where costs have already been committed. Any statutory right of cancellation under Washington law applies in addition to these terms and is not limited by them.
9. Warranty
Warranty terms, including coverage, exclusions, duration, and transferability, are stated in the written proposal for each project. Workmanship coverage and manufacturer product coverage are separate things and are described separately. We make no warranty beyond what the written agreement states.
We do not promise that a building will survive any specific earthquake or other event, and we do not describe any structure as earthquake-proof or any space as guaranteed dry indefinitely. Conditions outside the scope of the work performed, including future ground movement, are not covered.
10. Registration and professional limits
Seattle Foundation Repair is a registered Washington contractor, bonded per Washington L&I requirements. Contractor registration is not an engineering license and is not a guarantee of workmanship. Registration and bond status can be verified through the Washington L&I Verify tool.
We are not a structural or geotechnical engineering firm. Where a project requires engineered design or a geotechnical investigation, that work is performed by a licensed engineer, and we will say so rather than working beyond our scope.
11. Emergencies
Our enquiry forms are not an emergency response service and are not monitored continuously. If a structure is actively moving or a slope presents an immediate hazard, move away from the affected area and contact emergency services.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seattle Foundation Repair is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of this website or from our services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Intellectual property
The content of this website, including text, graphics, layout, and images, is the property of Seattle Foundation Repair or its licensors and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or republish it without written permission.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of King County, Washington.
15. Changes to these terms
We may modify these terms at any time. The revised version takes effect when posted to this page. Accepted written proposals are governed by the terms in force when they were accepted.
16. Contact
